Job Description
Remote is seeking a Senior Program Management Office (PMO) Assurance Officer to join the team in ASD. The Senior PMO Assurance Officer will support a dynamic team delivering test, evaluation and reporting functions for a key capability delivery program for ASD. In addition to this, the role will also contribute across the broader portfolio function to develop and implement assurance activities including Risk Assurance, Test and Evaluation (T&E) Assurance, Delivery Health, and Benefits Assurance. Role Description
The Senior Program Management Office (PMO) Assurance Officer will:

Support the preparation, coordination and testing of capabilities delivered across multiple projects.

Undertake testing, assessments and detailed findings related to testing activities.

Engage with project, program, and technical stakeholders across ASD to gather, analyse, and synthesise complex information.

Apply established assurance policies, frameworks, processes and procedures. You will undertake research, analysis, coordination and reporting activities to support assurance reviews, portfolio reporting and executive governance requirements.
Key duties and responsibilities
Risk Assurance
-
Assist in maintaining portfolio risk registers and risk reporting products.

Monitor risk treatments, mitigation actions and reporting obligations to support effective risk management practices.

Analyse project and program risk information and identify emerging trends, issues and escalation requirements.
Financial Assurance
-
Support assurance activities relating to project financial performance, forecasting, affordability and funding utilisation.

Assist with the review and analysis of project financial information and contribute to portfolio-level financial insights.

Support assurance reviews associated with business cases, investment proposals and financial governance activities.
Test and Evaluation Assurance

Assist with the coordination and administration of test and evaluation assurance activities.

Support readiness assessments by collecting evidence, monitoring assurance actions and maintaining assurance records.

Contribute to reporting that provides confidence in capability readiness and deployment preparedness.
Delivery Health and Benefits Assurance

Support project and program health assessments through the collection and analysis of delivery performance information.

Assist with monitoring benefits realisation, improvement actions and assurance recommendations.

Contribute to portfolio performance reporting and identification of trends affecting delivery outcomes.
Essential criteria

Measurement: Level 5 (SFIA)
Establishes measurement objectives and the scope of measurement for functions, teams and projects. Plans and implements improvements to measurement capability. Provides advice and guidance for effective use of measures and measurement. Selects measures appropriate to the context and organisational objectives. Reviews data collection and storage mechanisms to support measurement. Contributes to organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for measurement. -
Portfolio, programme and project support: Level 5 (SFIA)
Takes responsibility for the provision of portfolio, programme and project support. Advises on the available standards, procedures, methods, tools and techniques. Evaluates project and/or programme performance and recommends changes where necessary. Contributes to reviews and audits of project and programme management to ensure conformance to standards. -
Quality assurance: Level 5 (SFIA)
Plans, organises and conducts formal reviews and assessments of complex domains areas, cross-functional areas, and across the supply chain. Evaluates, appraises and identifies non-compliances with organisational standards and determines the underlying reasons for non-compliance. Prepares and reports on assessment findings and associated risks. Ensures that appropriate owners for corrective actions are identified. Identifies opportunities to improve organisational control mechanisms. Oversees the assurance activities of others, providing advice and expertise to support assurance activity. -
Specialist advice: Level 5 (SFIA)
Provides definitive and expert advice in their specialist area. Actively maintains recognised expert level knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms. Oversees the provision of specialist advice by others. Consolidates expertise from multiple sources, including third-party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives. Supports and promotes the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation.
