Job Description
Remote is seeking a Network Architect who will contribute to building and uplifting ASD systems and support organisation elements for the introduction of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, communities and tactical users into the information environment.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, dynamic, outcome orientated individual with excellent communication skills. They will be accountable under the general direction of project leadership for the planning, analysis and investigation of data flows and formats using specialised knowledge and tools. The successful candidate will gather requirements, document a proposed solution, and provide guidance to Network Engineers on how the solution should be designed, built, configured and operated.
Role Description
Key duties and responsibilities
The Network Architect will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Create Architecture Documentation, Standards, Reference Designs, and Frameworks for use by Network Engineers in the design and deployment of new networks.
- Design physical network topologies and network overlays that meet current and future customer requirements for availability, diversity and bandwidth.
- Work with Network equipment in a lab setting to understand, assess and document new technologies to determine their suitability for integration into existing and future network capabilities.
- Ensure validation and verification of requirements, with particular reference to reliability, availability and capacity delivered by different network and security solutions including the mapping of these to higher level project or customer requirements.
- Provide architectural guidance in the development of new and the modification to existing products and capabilities including the creation and modification of solution architecture documentation.
- Ensure all work meets agreed timeframes, quality standards and quality control measures.
- Lead a virtual team of Network Engineers to undertake detailed designs, network installations and acceptance testing in accordance with documented standards and policy.
- Identify project and section level risks and issues. Escalate risks and issues, and seek advice from the section or project team leadership.
- Work cohesively and flexibly with the project team, and manage the expectations of stakeholders.
