Job Description

Remote is seeking a Cloud Engineer who will design and develop secure products, services and solutions to suit the TS Cloud in ASD The successful candidate will have experience in commercial cloud architecture including hybrid cloud, identity and access management and commercial cloud provider services, products and tools. The role is required for the build of the TS Cloud environment which is currently planned for the next 3 years of the program.

Role Description

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Interpreting user and technical requirements for designing cloud-based technical services, products and solutions.
  • Implementing solutions and tools as Proof of Concepts (PoCs) so they can be evaluated for use prior to use in the TS Cloud. This may include replicating production environments to enable PoCs and testing.
  • Working with agencies to understand their current state architectures and make consideration for these in the architectural design.
  • Ensuring relevant policies and standards are addressed, and plan and design for emerging technologies (such as Zero Trust Architecture).
  • Working closely with the industry cloud provider to architect feasible and viable solution architectures.
  • Providing cloud technical guidance and options analysis to program management (and non-technical stakeholders) on specific topics as required in a clear and concise manner.
  • Providing technical administrative support as well as ongoing cloud infrastructure management, support and troubleshooting activities.

Technical skills

Essential:

  • Highly organised, dynamic, outcome-orientated individual
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Industry certifications and qualifications are desirable (particularly experience and certifications with AWS)
  • Experience with cloud identity management.
